Additional Services:
Birth Planning Session
(In person or Virtual)
This stand-alone prenatal birth planning session covers the same information as the birth planning session from the labor support package. I also offer this service on its own because I recognize and respect that having a doula present at your birth isn’t the right decision for all families, but I believe that ALL families, doula-supported or not, will still benefit from this information.
-an overview of signs of labor, including how to time contractions
-a list of what to look out for when labor begins and when it is time to go to the hospital
-an outline of what to expect when you arrive at the hospital
-the exploration of options for labor and delivery, such as comfort measures, solutions to stalled labor, and positions for delivering your baby
-the “golden hour” after delivery, and your options during this intimate time (immediate skin-to-skin contact, establishing breastfeeding, delayed cord clamping, etc.)
Postpartum Planning Session
(In person or Virtual)
It is important to plan for the birth of your baby, but you also want to make sure you have everything to take care of their needs once they are here. It is as important to plan for the postpartum period. You want to ensure your family will have all the resources needed to adjust to this new transition. That’s why taking time to create a postpartum plan is an essential exercise. It helps you identify resources that you will need as a new parent. Doing this BEFORE you are too busy taking care of your newborn is the best way to go.
-a two hour planning session
-a postpartum plan document that covers a variety of topics to consider while planning your postpartum transition
-a list of professional resources related to the postpartum period
-one half an hour phone call or video chat after your baby is born
